You have to hold on to your fantasy

Hello World!

I know it's not hot topic weekend yet but the new Pope was announced! The new Pope is Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Buenos Aires, Argentina! He is the first Pope from Latin America and he will be known as Pope Francis I.
Now on to updates. I thoroughly enjoyed writing yesterday. Learning about The Maldives and seeing how beautiful it is really inspired me. It was wonderful to see the beauty in the world because sometimes it's easy to forget. As much as I love fashion, I think Travel Tuesdays are becoming my favorite. I went to Macy's Herald Square today and saw Betsey Johnson dressing mannequins! It was really awesome to watch her! She seems like an incredible fun person to know. Only a few minutes after I had gotten there, a really bad car accident happened right behind us. An ambulance was coming down 34th street with sirens and lights on and from what I can tell, a black suv cut the ambulance off and the ambulance hit the front left hand side of the car which made it spin and go up onto the sidewalk where the driver continued to drive on the sidewalk towards people. He made his way back on the street, without his front bumper and with his left front tire hanging off. It was actually really scary to witness. Aside from that, seeing Betsey Johnson was awesome!
Now on to Wearing Wednesday! I'm going to keep today very Betsey Johnson themed. I'm putting together one whole Betsey Johnson outfit that I would wear. Enjoy!

The Sunny Side of Life

Hello!
Well I have to admit that I did not do those fabulous ab workouts today. I was so busy today with school I just did not have time. But I did eat a little healthier today, although I vow to do better tomorrow. I have a lot of free time tomorrow and I'm going to make sure I use it wisely. On to the rest, today is Travel Tuesday! For this Travel Tuesday, being so close to spring break, I'm going full on beachy! I'm imagining myself traveling to The Maldives! The Maldives are in the Indian Ocean, just across the equator. It is made up of 1,190 islands which are formed around 26 natural ring-like atolls. Each atoll is made of a coral reef encircling the island lagoon. Only 200 of the islands are inhabited and 90 islands are are tourist resorts. The rest are uninhabited or used for agriculture. (Visitmaldives.com) The images I have of these islands just prove how gorgeous it is. What I wouldn't do to be there right now.
I noticed on Instagram that many people participate in Transformation Tuesday. This is my first Tuesday hearing about it and I think it's a really great theme. Every Tuesday, aside from traveling, I'm going to post transformation pictures. I actually think this will be a really great motivator to lose weight also. I've been thinking about setting an actual weight loss goal for a specific time limit. I think it will really motivate me. I also read an article posted on Facebook from Elle magazine about relationship advice and one of them was to work out and eat as if you're single. I actually really agree with that. I have a boyfriend who I love more than anything but I think it could help to have that mindset when it comes to losing weight. Here's to a more lovable future!

We get so comfortable

Hello!
So it's ManicUre Monday! I actually gave myself a manicure today, which took a lifetime because I kept messing up and my nails show it, and I really wish I was able to post a picture but the pictures are on my phone and in my dorm room I have absolutely no internet connection whatsoever so unfortunately I will not be able to post pictures of my nails. However, I will tell you what they look like. I used a mint green for the base and then I did a triangle on each nail starting at the cuticle. On the thumb and ring fingers I did gold triangles and on all the rest I did silver. I really like the way they came out I just wish they came out more professional looking. I was actually somewhat upset at first because I finally was able to purchase Matte About You by Essie, which gives your nails a matte finish. I originally painted my nails and metallic dark blue with a silver french tip and when I tried to use the matte polish you could barely notice I put it on. I think I need to keep experimenting with it but for now I like the manicure I have.

Some designer info: on Facebook today I saw a post about Marc Jacob's Coke bottle designs. They are gorgeous! I want to collect them. Also, Betsey Johnson will be at Macy's Herald Square on Wednesday designing window displays from 12-3! If you're in the area you should definitely check it out! I know I will be there!

I have been trying to eat a little healthier recently (although I haven't been trying as hard as I should) and I definitely have a way of telling myself I'm doing better than I really am. Today I had a cup of coffee with creamer, a bottle of water, Panera's mediterranean veggie sandwich with a back of their kettle cooked potato chips for lunch. Then a grilled chicken sandwich on a whole wheat bun with american cheese, a tomato, honey mustard, and a pickle with a side salad and a coke zero for dinner. I would say that is decently well until I had a craving for ice cream. I had Haagen Dazs coffee flavored ice cream. I think tomorrow I'm going to start the Parisian diet. I saw it on TV, you eat basically anything you want just in about a third of the portion size that we here in America are used to. I know that when I originally cut my portion size down I lost weight, so I'm going to do this. I am also going to start doing some more workouts. I found a great list of about 9 lower ab workouts that I'm going to try tomorrow night. I'll post all the pictures now! Time for positive changes.

Not your average train ride

Hello!
I'm a little upset that the blogger app on my phone did not successfully publish my post I wrote the other night. Well I'm gonna keep this post real short because I have to get to class and then I'll write more later. This morning I was having a pretty rough start to my day. I was exhausted (from doing nothing) and was having a hard time staying awake on the train back to New York. When we were only two stops away, the best thing went by.

The Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey train went by! I was so excited to see it, but less excited when I didn't see any animals or anything. It was the longest train I had ever seen. It was just the tid bit of excitement that I needed to make my day a little better. Hope the rest of the day goes just as well!

Going anywhere.

I've been nothing but tired and busy lately. I need spring break and warm weather more than anything. Only a couple more weeks until then so for now, forgive my lack of posts.

Time to play catch up. I've joined the aMerchandising Society at FIT and I love it! I love the opportunities that come out of it and I love meeting new people. Being a member of the Merchandising Society means that we have to work one hour a week at the style shop. This is very similar to any retail job. It's really fun being a part of a club at school. A few weeks ago we took a tour of Kohls department store's New York City headquarters where they do product development and designing. It was so awesome to be able to go there and see what it's like. It definitely made me very optimistic about my future. Also, we've had some really great guest speakers come to the Merchandising Society meetings and I'll talk more about them later.

So now back to the daily calendar posts. It's Manicure Monday. I was trying to not pick at my nails at all anymore but that went down hill fast. All I've been doing is picking. My actual nails are growing pretty well but my hands are so cut up and gross. I need to get back on track with that. I also haven't painted my nails since valentines day but hopefully I'll be able to do them by next week.

I have such a busy day ahead of me with class and homework. I already wish it was Friday.
